How do you attach the shingles to ridge vents. I read that you can nail them but where on the vent would you do that?Question about ridge vents?
The slot in the roof should only be about 2'; on each side. Your vent gets nailed through the shingles and into the roof sheathing. The caps that go over the vent, should be about 12'; wide. Bend them over the vent and nail them the same way.

is it a ';mesh'; type ridge vent or a formed plastic? If it is mesh, just nail through the mesh but not so tight to squeeze the vent about two inches from end of shingles
